As the kids begin to count the hours left until Christmas Day, rather than the days, we’d like to just take a moment to reflect on the year quickly passing and take the time to wish all of our friends and family, near and far, a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
As seems always to be the case, 2009 has slipped by in a greater rush than I thought possible. The past 12 months were good to our family as we were able to spend time together learning and playing, working and traveling, resting and adventuring. Autumn has come and gone since the last post here. A very busy autumn, too. Winter has also come and gone … and then come back to stay!

My work place has season’s tickets for the Calgary Flames and has a draw for the seats amongst the employees. I was lucky enough to win the tickets for tonight’s Flames exhibition game against the NY Islanders. Despite the score being tied at 3 near the end of the second period, the players seem to have lost interest in the game and have started a dance. It’s pretty tough to tell who is leading…
p.s. The Flames eventually won 5-4 in and overtime shootout.
