Chloe, Sit!
Chloe, being of the bulldog persuasion, is not strictly speaking a quick study when it comes to training. She needs time to really find her motivation. Once she does commit to learning something, however, it becomes hers and she is not to be swayed from what she knows.
House-training took some effort; Frenchies are fairly quiet dogs and barking to indicate a desire to go outside is, well, gauche. To overcome this we took to having her sit before we would let her through a door. As her desire to come back inside was often fairly strong, making her sit before coming inside helped us to get her to sit by the door when she wants out. Smart, eh?
Now though, she will not come in without being told to sit first. “Chloe, sit! … Chloe, here!” Alyssa thought that maybe she could save a step…
